RAJIV VAN LA PARRA will face a three-game ban after being shown red card as Huddersfield suffered defeat against Manchester City.
The Dutch international was shown a straight red as the final whistle blew after an altercation with Leroy Sane.
Tempers flared following the final whistle as Van la Parra and Sane exchanged pushes before the Terriers midfielder grabbed at the City winger's face.
Players from both teams rushed in to separate the two as referee Craig Pawson pulled out the red card on Van la Parra and the yellow on Sane.
It appeared to be Sane who initiated the altercation but Van la Parra suffered the harsher punishment for raising his hands.
Van la Parra will miss the next three games for Huddersfield which includes away games at Arsenal and Everton before returning home to play Brighton.
The 26-year-old who has scored one Premier League goal this season will return on December 12 when the Terriers host Chelsea.
It is the second consecutive home game that the Terriers have been shown a red card.
Christopher Schindler was shown the red for a second bookable offence during Huddersfield 1-0 win over West Brom.
The yellow card is the third of the season for Sane who is now two away from suspension.
