STEVEN GERRARD reckons Liverpool prodigy Adam Lewis is the best youngster he’s ever seen.
The former Reds captain is now manager of their Under 18s and is getting to work with potential future stars on a daily basis.
Gerrard would know something about making an early impact after being handed his Liverpool debut at the age of 18 in 1998.
And it could be that Lewis, also 18, is set to follow in his footsteps soon.
The local lad started as a number 10 but has developed into a top attacking left wing-back despite suffering a broken leg earlier in his career.
And Gerrard reckons Liverpool will have a top player on their hands in the future.
He told the : “Adam’s been doing it for us all season long. I’ve been singing his praises all along.
“If Adam can keep his consistency up, I don’t think he’ll be around this team much longer.

“I want to keep him for as long as I can but for me he’s such a threat on the left side.
“Going forward, I haven’t seen anyone as good as him at that age in terms of quality and what he can deliver in the final third.”
