Liverpool join Manchester City in race for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
Jurgen Klopp reportedly sees the Serbian youngster as a replacement for Emre Can, who is set to join Juventus in 2018
LIVERPOOL have joined Manchester City in the race for Lazio's star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp reportedly sees the Serbian youngster as a replacement for Emre Can, who is set to join Juventus in 2018.
However, Lazio see the star as "unsellable" and have slapped a £62.3million price-tag on his head.
Despite the monumental cost, a number of Italian outlets have claimed Liverpool are leading the pack in the race to clinch the Serb's signature.
Liverpool hope they will have a starting midfield pair of Milinkovic-Savic and Naby Keita - who joins the Anfield club in the summer - for 2018-19.
Milinkovic-Savic's agent Mateja Kezman however has echoed Lazio's sentiment that the youngster is "unsellable", as the January transfer window creeps ever closer.
