Jesse Lingard celebrates Manchester United wonder goal by taking his mum out for her birthday
Midfielder had every reason to be smiling after scoring his first league goal of the season with a sensational solo effort
MANCHESTER UNITED'S Jesse Lingard had two reasons to celebrate on Wednesday.
The midfielder scored a sensational solo effort to sink Watford on Tuesday night before taking "mumzie" out for her birthday the following day.
Lingard's first league goal of the season was well worth the wait as he picked up the ball inside his own half before driving at the Watford defence before coolly slotting it past Heurelho Gomes.
And he continued his celebrations into the next day by taking to Instagram to show he is taking his mum for a spin... with animal filters.
Lingard wrote the caption: "Happy birthday Mumzie" alongside a picture of the pair in the car.
The 24-year-old has only made two starts for the Red Devils but United legend Paul Scholes believes he deserves more playing time and should be ahead of Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the pecking order.
Speaking to BT Sport, the United legend said: "Maybe they [his teammates] don't trust him [Lingard] enough.
"He's not the big name of a Mkhitaryan or somebody like that. He's got that ability. He's got the same level of ability as Mkhitaryan.
