Swansea ace Renato Sanches passes to advertising hoarding after thinking the Carabao logo is a team-mate in hilarious moment from Chelsea clash
It left his manager Paul Clement with his head in his hands after the error from the flop of a signing from Bayern Munich
THIS is the hilarious moment Renato Sanches passed to an advertising hoarding during Swansea's game at Chelsea.
It left his manager Paul Clement wondering on earth what was going on, before he put his head in his hands.
The on-loan Bayern Munich man picked up the ball in the centre circle, looked up, and passed off to his left.
The only problem was there was no team-mate there, and the ball rolled out and hit the hoarding displaying the Carabao logo.
We can only presume the red colouring around the design of the bull confused Sanches into thinking it was a team-mate.
But nonetheless, it left Clement seething on the sidelines.
Things were about to get even worse for Sanches however.
He was hauled off at half-time as Swansea were then tied at 0-0 with the Premier League high-fliers.
NICE JUAN Find out why Juan Mata is a real football legend
They went on to lose the game 1-0 as Antonio Rudiger netted the winner.
Big things were expected of the 20-year-old Portuguese international when he joined up with the Welsh outfit in the summer on loan from Bayern.
But like many of his team-mates, Sanches has struggled this season, and this was perhaps another example of his struggle adapting to his new surroundings.
