The report says no approach has been made to the club but have informed De Bruyne, 26, of their interest in bringing him to the Bernabeu.

But it is claimed that the former Chelsea star has made it clear he wants to remain at the Etihad despite Real's interest.

And the report goes as far as saying De Bruyne is ready to sign a new contract in the next few months to stop any more interest in him.

Paris Saint-Germain are another of the European elite reported to be keeping an eye on the former Wolfsburg man's progress.
