Journalist Paul Hirst announced on Twitter: "FA taking no action against Pep over the Redmond confrontation."

England's football governing body asked the ex-Barcelona manager to explain himself following last Wednesday's bizarre antics on the pitch.

Guardiola claimed that he was simply complimenting Redmond on his qualities, asking him why he wasn't attacking for his side.

He told Match of the day after the incident: "I was telling Nathan Redmond how good he is at the end.
