Newcastle and Crystal Palace told they must pay £88million for Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun
Vice-president Deniz Atalay has slapped the outrageous price-tag after interest from a number of Premier League clubs
BESIKTAS chiefs have told Newcastle and Crystal Palace they must pay £88million for striker Cenk Tosun.
The Toon joined the race to sign the highly-rated Turkish star with Palace also monitoring his situation.
But Beskitas vice-president Deniz Atalay has slapped the hefty price-tag on Tosun's head to try and ward of interest from the Premier League clubs.
Atalay said: “If you ask me Cenk is worth €100 million, he has a very bright future.
“He are starting to reap the fruits from the seeds we sowed.”
Newcastle are said to be interested in bringing Tosun to St James' Park as part of a swap deal with out-of-favour Aleksandar Mitrovic.
But it seems they will be out of the running for the former Eintracht Frankfurt star as they reportedly already bulked at Besiktas' earlier price of £20million.
Everton are another team that have been linked with a move for the 26-year-old goal machine.

They are in desperate need of some more firepower after failing to adequately replace Romelu Lukaku after his £75m-move to Manchester United.
Tosun has netted ten goals in 18 appearances this season, including one against bitter Istanbul rivals Galatasaray in the 2-0 win at the weekend.
