The red hot David Silva will play for City after missing Wednesday's Champions League defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk.

City will make a decision on Saturday over whether Vincent Kompany and Fabian Delph can play at Old Trafford.

Pep Guardiola said in midweek that City's Spanish playmaker could be a doubt for the trip across town.

Silva had been left at home when the rest of the squad flew to Ukraine in order to recover from a minor problem.

But on Friday lunchtime Guardiola said: "He's going to play. He's going to play - after the game against West Ham he had a bit of doubt.

"That's why I said it but today he arrived and said he's really good so he's going to play."

The news is less clear on Kompany and Delph, who travelled to the game against Shakhtar but did not feature.

Guardiola said: "Before the game against Shakhtar, Vincent felt something, he was not comfortable and couldn't play.

"Vincent knows his body better than anyone, he felt something and couldn't play.

"My first impression is that he will be good to play but until tomorrow we will not know.

"Delph was sick - vomit and fever the day before.

"The only guys who didn't play because they needed rest were Kyle Walker and Nicolas Otamendi.

"Today the players are off so I don't know but tomorrow we will check how the conditions are."

John Stones and Benjamin Mendy are long-term absentees for Guardiola.

Meanwhile, Mourinho confirmed Michael Carrick and Eric Bailly will not feature.

Marouane Fellaini will be assessed tomorrow.

Paul Pogba is of course suspended owing to the red card he received against Arsenal for a stamp on Hector Bellerin.

Speaking of his injury updates, Mourinho said: "Zlatan is available. Jones is available. Fellaini I have to wait until tomorrow.

"Carrick is not available. Bailly is not available. Matic is injured but he plays."
