Swansea boss Paul Clement faces sack if Premier League strugglers lose to Crystal Palace
Monday's defeat at Everton made it eight losses in the past ten games for the relegation-threatened south Wales side
SWANSEA manager Paul Clement could be sacked if his side lose to the resurgent Crystal Palace, reports claim.
The South Wales side’s hierarchy had been intent on giving Clement the chance to splash the cash in the January transfer window.
But now it looks like Cthe 45-year-old may be given the boot before then if he fails to mastermind a result against Roy Hodgson’s men on Saturday.
The Swans’ 3-1 defeat at Goodison on Monday was their eighth defeat in their past ten games.
And now the say that should that trend continue then Clement is under “significant threat” of losing his job.
However, in his favour is the fact the club’s hierarchy have only just started to lose faith.
And there is hardly a glut of top class management available to take his place should he go.
Clement, who was assistant to Carlo Ancelotti at Bayern Munich in his last job, saved Swansea from relegation last season.
He moved to the Liberty in January after the plug was pulled on American Bob Bradley.
It is thought Clement still has the support of the dressing room.
But it is not known for how much longer that will last, especially as the Swans sit bottom of the league, two points adrift of West Brom and three from Newcastle.
Clement is said to be targeting three new signings in the January sales.
