Lee Johnson celebrates Bristol City’s last-gasp Carabao Cup win over Manchester United with ball boy
Championship high-fliers won 2-1 to reach the semi-finals thanks to winner by Korey Smith deep into stoppage time
BRISTOL CITY manager Lee Johnson encapsulated the feelings of every Bristol City fan when he celebrated his side's stunning Carabao Cup upset with a nearby ball boy.
And Johnson reacted by running down the touchline in celebration before spinning a ball boy around in mid-air in a moment of pure ecstasy.
This will go down as one of the great cup upsets.
A raucous Ashton Gate proved too much for England's most successful club as Bristol City ran out worthy winners.
Jose Mourinho could certainly not have been accused of taking this game lightly as he started the likes of Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
While he also introduced Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Romalu Lukaku off the bench.
Bristol City took the lead through Joe Bryan's left-foot effort on 51 minutes — but the lead lasted just seven minutes as Ibrahimovic blasted home his first goal of the season.
It looked like the match would be heading for extra-time until Smith popped up to spark the mother of all celebrations in Bristol.
Johnson and Co. are in their first League Cup semi-finals since 1988-89, where they will face Premier League leaders Manchester City.
