Stoke transfer news: Stephen Ireland reportedly pens new Potters deal until end of the season

FORGOTTEN man Stephen Ireland has reportedly agreed a new deal with Stoke as he looks to prove his fitness yet again.
The 31-year-old has failed to feature for the Potters since May 2016 after suffering a serious broken leg in training.
And constant setbacks caused him to miss the entire 2015/16 campaign, but boss appears to still have faith in the Irish midfielder.
His current short-term deal at the bet365 Stadium is due to expire in January, but he is believed to have been offered a new contract extension.
According to , sources close to the player have told the news outlet that the ex-Manchester City star has agreed to stay with the 2011 FA Cup runners-up until the summer.
Ireland is yet to force his way back into contention under the 54-year-old as he continues to be plagued by injuries.
Hughes is a keen fan of the former Newcastle and Aston Villa ace, having managed him whilst the pair were at City.
Ireland spent five seasons with the Citizens after coming up through their academy, and became an integral part of their side.

He made 176 appearances in all competitions for City - winning their Player of the Season award for his performances in the 2008/09 campaign.
But he failed to make an impression on new boss Roberto Mancini, who flogged him off to the Villans for £8million with James Milner coming the other way.
