Earl, who is 6ft 5in, was rewarded with a new deal in November, but that has not stopped interest in taking him to the Premier League.

Sam Allardyce is looking for a long-term replacement for Leighton Baines at Everton and left-back has also been a problem position for Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

Klopp, meanwhile, fears he could be without Mo Salah for the New Year's Day trip to Burnley.

The Egyptian magician scored both goals as Liverpool came from behind to beat Leicester at Anfield.

But Klopp admitted that Salah may not be available for Monday's game after picking up a knock.

The Reds boss said: “He was limping a little at the end of the game and that is never a good sign. We have to check and see what he can do for the next match.

“Our reaction to going a goal down was the best I’ve ever seen in this situation. The crowd were unbelievable and we needed them to score these two goals.

“Mo Salah was fantastic with his dribbling and his vision. I couldn’t ask for more from him.

“I am happy for him and for all the team because this is a fantastic group of players. It’s a good team performance and a well-deserved win.”
