DIEGO COSTA joked that learning English was the highlight of his Chelsea career after being unveiled as an Atletico Madrid player.
The fiery Spaniard secured a dream return to Madrid in the summer after three years at Stamford Bridge and two Premier League titles.
When asked what his time at the Blues was like, he laughed: "I learned English there.
"Seriously, the supporters, the people at the club and my team-mates helped me a lot.
"Chelsea is a great club and I only have good memories."
Costa, 29, has been unable to play for Diego Simeone's side due to a transfer ban they were serving.
But Atletico are now free to field new players and Costa cannot wait to be back on the pitch.
He said: "I need to play.
"As a bystander, I suffered more than as a player.
"I've been waiting for this moment for a long time.
"I just want to get in shape to play as soon as possible, I'm tired of training.

"You can tell I've already worked and prepared well to play, I'm here to help the team and score goals.
Chelsea signed Alvaro Morata for a club-record £60million from Real Madrid to replace his countryman.
The forward has scored 13 goals in 27 appearances for the Blues and is proving a worthy replacement.
And Morata, 25, insists he remains friends with the Atletico star.
He said: "He is a very good player and a good man too. I'm Diego's friend and when I came here I knew that is was a big responsibility to replace him, but I've tried to do well.
"Always when we are together in the Spanish team, we talk about football and life. We talk about everything and I always say thanks to Diego."
