Anfield club have shelled out a whopping £75m to bring in the Dutch defender - but do they even need him?

LIVERPOOL may have just splashed out a whopping £75million to sign Virgil van Dijk - but don't forget about Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan.

The two centre-halves were the star men during the dramatic 2-1 away win at Burnley according to The Sun's Dream Tream Ratings.

Klavan bagged the winner deep into stoppage time as Jurgen Klopp's men secured a vital three points in their Champions League quest.

The Estonian was rated at 7.8 for his performance - but Lovren went one better.

The much-maligned former Southampton centre-back scored an impressive 8.27 against the Clarets.

One of the two are expected to lose their place to Van Dijk - but Klopp may have a selection dilemma ahead of him.

Klavan was Liverpool's unlikely hero as he spared Klopp's blushes at Turf Moor.

The German boss made a host of changes on a miserable day in East Lancashire - but Klavan's last-gasp winner made it four wins out of five in the Premier League.

With Philippe Coutinho and Mo Salah injured and Roberto Firmino only named on the bench there was a very different feel to the Liverpool team.

That left Sadio Mane as the only of the Reds' 'Fab Four' to start in the touch away-day at the Clarets.

But it was the Senegalese attacker who struck home a beauty from the edge of the box on the hour - for a goal out of keeping with the afternoon.

Perhaps Klopp was objecting about the hectic fixture schedule - or maybe he had one eye on Friday's FA Cup derby with Everton.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson levelled with just three minutes left when he dived in at the far post to head in from Sam Vokes' deflection and seemingly earn the hosts a deserved draw.

But Klavan pounced on Lovren's flick at the far post to head the winner deep into stoppage time and cement his side's top four spot.
