Derek Dudley dead aged 47 as ex-Aston Villa and West Brom loses battle against liver disease

EX-ASTON VILLA and West Brom goalkeeper Derek Dudley has died aged just 47 after a battle against liver disease.
The dad-of-two passed away surrounded by his family at his home in Rugeley, Staffs, on New Year's Eve, it has been announced.
He leaves behind his wife Helen and two young children Daniel, 13, and eleven-year-old Elizabeth.
Dudley spent four-years with Villa between 1984 and 1988, and also played at their Midlands rivals West Brom.
The ex-stopper also spent time with non-league Torquay, Telford, Worcester, Sutton Coldfield Town, Stourbridge, Romulus and Halesowen.
He went on to become a much-loved PE teacher before his health took a turn for the worse, .

Close pal Jonathan Pearson said: "It’s with great sadness that I have spoken with Helen and Derek has passed away peacefully.
"Helen wanted to let us all know but wanted us to celebrate his life.
"Helen is obviously upset and just wanted me to let you all know. Raise a glass tonight for Derek, God bless."
