Manchester United star Juan Mata wanted by Inter Milan with deal set to run out in summer
Red Devils have option to extend Spaniard's contract which expires in summer but he need to ensure playing time
INTER MILAN are interested in signing Juan Mata, according to reports.
The Spaniard's Old Trafford contract expires at the end of the season, but Manchester United have the option to extend it by an extra year.
But Mata will want to ensure he will get regular playing time at the club before committing himself to a new deal.
And report Inter are monitoring the situation carefully and could be ready to pounce if he does decide to leave.
Jose Mourinho sold the Spaniard during his second spell at Chelsea, but has utilised him regularly at United.
However, there are strong reports he will make a move for Mesut Ozil to bolster his attack line.
Should they strike a deal for Ozil it is conceivable he would let both Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan leave.
The Armenian is another star Inter are looking at as he continues to fight for his Old Trafford substitute.
