James Tarkowski signs Burnley contract until 2022 to snub interest from Arsenal and Manchester City
Ex-Brentford and Oldham defender was out of contract at the end of next season
JAMES TARKOWSKI has doubled his money by signing a new four-and-a-half-year deal with Burnley.
The defender was out of contract at the end of next season but has now extended his stay at Turf Moor on £40,000 a week until 2022.
Manchester-born Tarkowski, 25, has been a key part of the fourth-meanest defence in the Premier League this season.
The former Brentford and Oldham player has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Manchester City.
Having joined from the Bees for £3million in 2016, he says he wants to be part of a long-term project under boss Sean Dyche.
Tarkowski said: “I’m happy. It’s been a good season so far and it’s nice to be rewarded by the gaffer and the club in this way.

“I have said it for a long time this is a long-term project for me and the club so hopefully we can all continue what’s been a positive season so far.”
