NEIL WARNOCK is eyeing Lewis Grabban for Cardiff’s faltering promotion push.
The Bluebirds boss hopes to do a deal with Bournemouth for the striker, who scored 12 goals for Sunderland on loan this season.
Aston Villa and Wolves have also shown an interest in buying Grabban but City’s recent form has prompted Warnock’s late move.
Sunderland are sweating as they had lined up Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn to come in.
Jurgen Klopp has made them wait while the teenager is not convinced over a loan move.
Sunderland's Championship survival hopes were dealt a major blow with their top scorer Grabban returning to Bournemouth.
The striker, 29, was on a season-long loan with the rock-bottom Black Cats and scored 12 goals for them in 19 league games.
But Bournemouth triggered a recall clause in Grabban's Sunderland deal so they can cash in on him this transfer window.
