ARSENAL will reportedly lead the chase for Monaco star Thomas Lemar — but a deal hinges on Alexis Sanchez leaving for Manchester City.
The Gunners tried and failed with a £90million bid for the Frenchman on deadline day which scuppered Sanchez's move to the Etihad.
French news outlet claim that the Gunners will be clear favourites to land Lemar, 21, for as little as £61m this month.
That is reportedly if Chilean international Sanchez can engineer his £20m switch to the Premier League leaders.
Liverpool have funds after they sold Philippe Coutinho for £145m to Barcelona and are also interested in Lemar.
But RMC note that the Gunners last attempt to get the highly-rated midfielder would put them in pole position.
