ARSENAL are set to keep Konstantinos Mavropanos until the end of the season.
The Greek Under-21s international was bought by the Gunners for £2million from PAS Gianina this month and was on the bench in the 0-0 draw against Chelsea last night.
And boss Arsene Wenger has admitted he wants to keep the defender at the Emirates until May.
Wenger said: "I personally want to keep him until May to know him better, to assess his level.
"The first signs he showed in training were so encouraging that I decided to keep him."
Mavropanos would have been ineligible for a loan had he come on against the Blues due to Fifa rules prohibiting a player playing for three clubs with similar schedules in the same season.
