ARSENAL are in pole-position to land Monaco star Thomas Lemar as Liverpool baulk at £90million asking price.
The French international was top of Jurgen Klopp’s shopping list to replace Philippe Coutinho who joined Barcelona this month.
That was when Monaco were prepared to lower their valuation of the 22-year-old who is keen to move to the Premier League.
reports Monaco are now sticking to their whopping £90m valuation, the fee Arsenal were prepared to pay after Lemar had agreed to join them last summer.
Monaco always planned to keep Lemar this season and hope to spark a bidding war among Europe’s big boys.
The plan has worked as Wenger looks to replace Alexis Sanchez who is set to leave the Emirates this month with Manchester United and Manchester City fighting for his signature.
