Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ‘pleads with Borussia Dortmund to let him join Arsenal in £54m deal’
Aubameyang was left out of Dortmund squad again last Sunday for a breach of club discipline and is desperate to end his spell in Germany and make switch to the Emirates
BORUSSIA DORTMUND striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has pleaded with his club to allow him to join Arsenal.
The hitman has made it clear he wants to move to the Premier League this month to work under Arsene Wenger, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Gabon forward is the man Wenger wants to replace Alexis Sanchez who is close to joining Manchester United.
Dortmund are adamant the 28-year-old forward is not for sale, but the Gunners have been locked in talks with the Bundesliga giants top brass to thrash out a deal.
However the Premier League side have baulked at the £60million asking price.
Arsenal could use Olivier Giroud as a makeweight in the deal, Dortmund tried to land the French international last summer.
Gunners new head of recruitment Sven Mislintat who spent eight years at Dortmund has spoken highly of Aubameyang despite episodes of ill-discipline off the pitch.
He was banished from the Dortmund squad last Sunday – his third suspension in just over a year and this time the club seem to have had enough of him.

But Aubameyang has still managed to hit 21 goals in 23 appearances and his strike in the win against Hoffenheim before the winter break looks like his last goal in German football.
