Jesse Lingard jokes Arsenal ace Alexis Sanchez is having Manchester United medical in hilarious Instagram post

ALEXIS SANCHEZ is believed to be edging closer to a sensation transfer to Manchester United - but it's not quite as close as Jesse Lingard joked.

The United winger uploaded a clip onto his Instagram account pretending he was welcoming Sanchez in for his medical.

Speaking to the camera Lingard, who is in a red-hot run of form, said: "Oh hello, welcome are you OK? How are you?

"I hope you enjoy your time here, enjoy your medical, bye, bye."

He did caption the video "Only joking"... just in case any of you United fans got your hopes up.

SunSport reported earlier today how Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed Sanchez is "likely" to join United in the next 24 hours.

Mkhitaryan will be heading the other way in a sensational swap deal.

The 29-year-old has snubbed the Gunners' contract offers with just six-months left on his deal, forcing them to flog him for £35million to their bitter rivals.

Wenger said when asked about Sanchez: "Yes, it is likely to happen. Any minute things can break down.

"That’s how the transfer market is. These things are never guaranteed. It can happen, it can as well not happen.

"It is as that stage. If it does not happen, he will play on Saturday."

The Chilean is expected to seal a switch to Jose Mourinho's side in a staggering £505,000-a-week deal.
