Paul Lambert wants to keep his squad together following his appointment at the Bet365 Stadium.

But the Scot could be open to selling the ex-England striker in a £3million deal to generate cash for the transfer window.

Antonio Conte wants a targetman at Stamford Bridge.

And Crouch is an option after losing out on Fernando Llorente to Tottenham then seeing Carroll get injured.

Carroll was on Chelsea’s wanted list but an ankle injury has ruled out a loan deal for the West Ham man.

Conte is looking for back-up to Alvaro Morata and is ready to allow Michy Batshuayi to leave the club.

But getting in a striker has proved difficult and even a deal for Crouch is not straightforward as he has another full season on his deal at Stoke.

He signed an extension in November and has been used in their first team.
