Chelsea set to make Thibaut Courtois best paid player on £200,000-a-week when Belgian pens new deal
Belgian stopper set to more-than double his wages as he snubs a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid
THIBAUT COURTOIS will become the first Chelsea player to earn more than £200,000 a week when he signs a new contract.
The Blues have always paid their players well in the Abramovich era but they have been overtaken in the pay stakes by Manchester City and Manchester United in recent times.
Keeper Courtois, 25, who has already indicated that he is prepared to stay at Stamford Bridge, will soon become their best-paid player.
The Belgian stopper has been linked with a move to Real Madrid for a number of transfer windows as they want to replace Keylor Navas.
But he is now set to become the highest-paid keeper on the planet as he more than doubles his current wage packet.
Courtois' club and international team-mate Eden Hazard has also been linked with mega-money switch to the Bernabeu.

But Courtois earlier this month urged Hazard to commit his future at the West London club and to reject Real's advances.
Courtois, 25, said: "It has just turned the new year, so we will wait a few weeks and then sit around the table.
