JOSE MOURINHO says it will be ‘easy’ to extend his contract at Manchester United as he is so happy at the club.

SunSport revealed earlier this week that the Red Devils' boss was close to signing a new five-year deal at Old Trafford.

Even though he is just half way through his initial three-year contract...

And Mourinho revealed on Friday that he will put pen to paper with the board confident they have the right man.

Mourinho said: “My contract ends July 2019, so plenty of time to speak.

“I know that the club is happy and the owners, the board are happy, they know I am happy and, when that's the case, one day we decide to do something we will do it easily, but plenty of time.”

Unfortunately Mourinho ran out of time yesterday in trying to sign Alexis Sanchez in time to play at Burnley on Saturday.

The midday deadline came and went with the Chilean still not having put pen to paper on a deal to switch from Arsenal to Old Trafford.

Mourinho, however, remains relaxed about the £35million cash plus player deal going through with Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving the other way.

He said: “I think clearly everybody knows that we are there and especially when the Arsenal manager speaks so clearly like he did.

“I will just calmly waiting for news, no more than that.

“I will speak with you if one day we sign him, I can speak with you about him and what he can bring to our team.

“He's an Arsenal player, he's not my player, there's no point in me speaking about something that may or may to happen.”
