Lennon was facing an extended spell on the Everton bench following the big-money arrival of Theo Walcott.

Yannick Bolasie’s return from injury also saw opportunities limited for the ex-Spurs star.

And despite making nine starts this season, Lennon did not appear to be in Sam Allardyce’s plans for the future.

It was believed Newcastle were leading the race for his signature.

He is yet to undergo a medical at Turf Moor, but Burnley are confident there won’t any hiccups in the deal.

Dyche has already wrapped up a loan deal for Spurs winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and is clearly aiming to speed up his team’s play on the wings.

Scott Arfield has also been offered a lucrative new contract in a bid to ward off interest from West Ham.
