West Ham reopen Joao Mario loan talks with Inter Milan as David Moyes makes a second move for Portuguese ace

Midfielder snubbed move to London earlier this month but has realised he won't be getting any further chances in Italy

WEST HAM have reportedly reopened talks with Inter Milan over a loan move for Joao Mario.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims David Moyes has made a fresh approach for the midfielder, who snubbed the chance of joining the Hammers earlier this month.

It’s claimed that Mario has had a change of heart and is open to joining West Ham until the end of the season after discovering there was no way back into Luciano Spalletti’s side.

Inter have also signed Barcelona star Rafinha until the summer, giving Mario even less of a chance of breaking into the starting XI.

And he could now be set for a stunning short-term switch to the London Stadium in order to nail down a place in Portugal’s World Cup squad.

West Ham have also decided to pay Mario’s wages in full and are ready to offer Inter a £1.3million fee.

Moyes would also like the option to sign Mario on a permanent deal, and a clause worth over £26m could also work its way into the agreement.

However, Inter are looking for slightly more money from the Hammers.

They are hoping to pocket £2.2m for the six-month loan deal, while Mario’s agent is apparently angling for a taste worth £350,000.

But all parties are keen to get a deal over the line before the window slams shut, and they may be willing to meet halfway on certain terms.
