Manchester United star David De Gea eyed by Real Madrid in £87m summer deal
Los Blancos are determined to replace Keylor Navas and their pursuit of Kepa Arrizabalaga has stalled
REAL MADRID are reportedly planning to make David De Gea the world's most expensive goalkeeper this summer.
Los Blancos are desperate to replace Keylor Navas but saw their pursuit of Kepa Arrizabalaga stall as he signed a seven-year extension.
The Spaniard has enjoyed another brilliant season at Old Trafford and is one of Jose Mourinho's most important players.
But De Gea - who began his career with Atletico Madrid - has consistently been linked with a return to the Spanish capital.
He still has next season left on his current £200,000-a-week deal before an option for a further 12 months kicks in.
And Mourinho has confirmed that the club's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is looking at a new five-year contract to keep the 27-year-old out of Real's clutches.
Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois - whose kids live in Madrid - is another option.
