EVERTON flop Davy Klaassen has reportedly been touted to Inter Milan and Napoli by his agent.
The Dutch midfielder, 24, has not played under Sam Allardyce and looks surplus to requirements at Goodison Park.
Allardyce is desperate to trim down a bloated squad of about 35 players to something more manageable.
But with no satisfactory offers so far there is a realistic prospect many will remain at Everton after the window closes.
According to Calciomercato, Serie A leaders Napoli and fourth-placed Inter have been sounded out about Klaassen's availability.
But an initial loan deal is said to be more likely, with neither club in a position to offer the Toffees close to the £23.4million sum they paid Ajax in the summer.
Allardyce has told his fringe players he does not want to see them feeling sorry for themselves if deadline day moves do not happen.
The Toffees boss said: "The challenge for the players is hardest of all. Sitting, moping and feeling sorry for yourselves is not the answer.
"I think the answer is for them to be determined, dedicated and prove to us as managers and coaches they deserve a place in the squad or the team. That is their responsibility.
