Tottenham star Victor Wanyama’s wonderstrike recorded at 64mph… but here are seven more harder Premier League shots

Fans have been going crazy over the 80th minute belter but it is by far not the hardest shot ever in the English top-flight

LAST SEASON, Victor Wanyama scored one of the goals of the season against Liverpool with his thunderous 25-yard strike.

The shot has been reported to have been going a whopping 64mph — which is just 4mph less than how quickly a cheetah runs.

But it may shock you to know it doesn't even make the top five hardest shots ever recorded in the Premier League.

Now, there are no official records for how fast a shot has gone in the top-flight, but there are some figures that are consistent in many reports.

Unfortunately, we will only be including goals, so Sheffield Wednesday star David Hurst's 114mph bar rattler against Arsenal will not be on the list.

It's not the only time the now-owner of a Miami football team will appear on this list either...

NEWCASTLE fan-favourite Obafemi Martins netted 35 goals in 104 appearances for the club.

And one of his shots over his three-year stint in England makes it on the list.

The former Inter Milan star's thunderbolt against Spurs was recorded at 84mph.

TURKEY and Blackburn star Tugay is undoubtedly a Premier League legend.

And fans became endeared to the midfielder with his unbelievable long-range shooting ability.

One of these came against Saints back in 2001 in the form of a 84.2mph 30-yard volley.

It was the equaliser for Blackburn before they went on to get a 2-1 win away from home.

Alan Shearer v Leicester (February 2 1997)

NEWCASTLE legend and SunSport columnist Shearer was well known for his ferocious shots.

And there were none with much more venom than when he struck his free-kick against Leicester 21 years ago.

The Magpies were 3-1 down at home before the England international stepped up and struck from 20-yards with a unstoppable 85.8mph shot.

Matt Le Tissier v Newcastle (January 18 1997)

SOUTHAMPTON could always rely on Matt Le Tissier to pull out some wonder goals during his time at the club.

And it's his strike against Newcastle, again in 1997, that makes it on our unofficial list.

Clocking in at 86.6mph, the only goal to give Saints the win from a volley just inside the box comes in at No3.

IF there was one name on this list that many of you would not have guessed, Ritchie Humphrey's would be it.
