RANGERS star Josh Windass was branded "arrogant and stupid" for telling Gers fans to be quiet with his goal celebration.
The Ibrox midfielder, son of Hull legend Dean, was getting jeered by fans in the Scottish Premiership clash against Partick Thistle at Firhill.
But he netted in the 39th minute and placed his fingers to lips as he ran towards the crowd.
And some viewers online reacted with rage when they saw what some of them perceived as an insult to travelling fans.
One said: "Acting like a spoiled wean just makes him look stupid, arrogant, and will make him a bigger target now."
A fellow fan wrote: "Windass shhing the fans is appalling, should be fined and dropped. F*** any player that thinks he's bigger than the club and immune from criticism."
Another posted: "Not the smartest move. You don't earn the right to shhhh our fans with one good performance every few games."
A fellow viewer said: "Windass should have his a*** kicked for that gesture to the fans."
One wrote: "I like Windass but he definitely thinks he's a lot better than he actually is."
Another posted: "Windass has some balls to shhh the fans. He’s had a decent season but he’s not irreplaceable. He’s inconsistent and should focus on being a better player rather than acting the c***."
A fellow fan said: "Windass shhhhing the fans... keep scoring goals and we won't give you grief."
One more said: "Windass has more goals than brain cells."
But not all agreed.
Another said: "Windass can do whatever celebration he wants. I'm more concerned where the ball ends up."
One posted: "Sure he can be inconsistent but he's easily one of our most important players."
A fellow viewer wrote: "You'd think Windass had spat at the fans. What an overreaction."
