TOTTENHAM are lining up a surprise swoop for Watford star Abdoulaye Doucoure, according to reports.

And the Mail claim the Spurs boss saw enough from the central midfielder to convince him to make a summer bid.

The 25-year-old is on a £60,000-a-week contract at Vicarage Road until 2020, so will not come cheap.

But Watford and their shrewd owners have proven to be a selling club – when the price is right – and could make a killing on the man they paid Rennes just £8m for in 2016.

Liverpool have also been linked with a move to the athletic box-to-box ace – especially with Emre Can expected to move on.
