MANCHESTER CITY have a verbal agreement in place to sign Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred in the summer, according to reports.
The Brazilian — who is represented by Arsenal Invincible Gilberto Silva — has been on the radar of the Etihad club for a number of months but have been unable to agree terms.
Now it is being reported by renowned Portuguese journalist that a deal is in place for £50million-rated Fred to make his Premier League move.
The report goes on to say that Gilberto took over from his previous agent, who is Ronaldinho's brother, and helped in negotiations with City last month.
Fred is said to want to play under Spanish boss Pep Guardiola and be part of the attacking style of play City have become known for.
Former Shakhtar boss Mircea Lucescu claimed Fred was definitely going to sign for City in the summer.
