Manchester City closing in on three summer signing already including £50m deal for Shakhtar Donetsk ace Fred
Guardiola is also desperate to complete deals for PEC Zwolle defender Philippe Sandler and Claudio Gomes from PSG
MANCHESTER CITY are close to signing three players in the summer including £50million Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred, according to reports.
Guardiola has been linked with a move for the Brazilian as he begins to prepare for a long term replacement to Fernandinho, 32.
Fred joined the Ukrainian club back in 2013 when Fernandinho joined City but will now compete against his fellow Brazilian at the Etihad.
The report goes on to claim that City will also move for Philippe Sandler, who is a Holland Under-20s defender from PEC Zwolle.
PSG youth player Claudio Gomes, 17, is also being monitored closely by City chiefs.
He is yet to make a first-team appearance but is a regular in their Uefa Youth League side and in the France Under-18s squad.
Meanwhile, Guardiola has backed City star Kevin De Bruyne to challange Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for the Ballon d'Or.

Asked if his £54million star should be in the frame, Guardiola said: “No doubt. It’s not one game. It’s the whole season every three days playing that way. Every three days.
“He knows and everyone knows to be there you have to win titles and titles and titles.”
