PAUL Pogba is so unhappy with his positional problems at Manchester United that he "regrets returning", according to reports in France.
The France ace is said to want to play an attacking role on the left side of a midfield three.
And French newspaper L’Equipe claims that Pogba "regrets returning to Manchester United" over his positional problems under Jose Mourinho
The £89million man has been subbed off by the Special One twice in recent weeks, in damaging Premier League defeats to Spurs and Newcastle.
And Mourinho, according to an , has been unimpressed with Pogba's contribution to the team since Alexis Sanchez's signing from Arsenal.
The former Chelsea boss feels Pogba should be able to dominate matches in a box-to-box midfield role like Steven Gerrard did at Liverpool and not just enjoy the freedom to attack.

Pogba's swashbuckling style is understood to have annoyed the Portuguese coach whose preferred method is having experienced campaigners carrying out specific tasks around the pitch.
Mourinho hauled off Pogba immediately after the midfielder failed to challenge for the free-kick Newcastle scored from on Sunday. And he made it clear he was unhappy with what he saw as players ducking out of the challenge.
He said: “I remember clearly a Newcastle player jumping and two of my players looking at him and staying on the floor.”
And Mourinho does not sound interested in letting Pogba off with a specific midfield role, preferring him to be an all-encompassing player whether he has one, two or three team-mates supporting him.
He said: “I think this country produced a lot of amazing box-to-box players, I had the pleasure to coach some of them, but I think nowadays with some pundits, some agents, some family members, I think the concept of the box-to-box is changing a little bit.
“I think now we are going to a different concept of box-to-box.
“For me with my Portuguese and trying just to translate it to the English, I just think midfield players.
“And, for me, Paul is a midfield player. He is not a left back, he is not a striker. So when people ask what is the best position for Paul to play? Paul is a midfield player.
“He can play with two, he can play with one, he can play with three, but he will be always a midfield player.
"Doesn't matter the tactical system the team plays, for me Pogba is a midfield player.”
United will look to bounce back from Sunday's Newcastle defeat when they travel to Huddersfield on Saturday evening in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
