SERGIO AGUERO claims he exploded in rage at a Wigan fan after the supporter allegedly spat in his ear and shouted "Suck my d***".
Manchester City star Aguero is waiting to discover if he faces any disciplinary action after losing his cool at the end of the FA Cup defeat to Wigan last night.
The Argentine star met with City officials and lawyers this morning to put forward his explanation of the row that overshadowed the 1-0 upset by League One's third-placed side.
And SunSport understands Aguero says he lost his cool after the pitch invader abused him and then spat in his face.
The 29-year-old striker had to be restrained by officials and a Wigan player as he explodedwith rage in the seconds after the final whistle.
Television footage appears to show him pushing one pitch invader away before he then lost control seemingly at something else that happened.
It is understood City are fully behind their player following the clash, and that he is taking legal advice himself to see if he should pursue a complaint against the fan.
The bust-up was just one of a series of bad tempered incidents in the game.
The FA are looking at as many as four potential incidents that could mean disciplinary charges are brought.
Officials at Wembley are collating evidence from the DW Stadium match, with the tunnel fracas involving Pep Guardiola and Wigan boss Paul Cook one thing they are looking closely at.
The way Wigan players and coaching staff remonstrated with the officials in the wake of Fabien Delph's tackle that led to him being sent-off is also under scrutiny.
The Aguero incident forms part of their investigations into the way stewards failed to prevent the pitch invasion by supporters at the final whistle.
And the behaviour of City fans, who had been goaded by Wigan supporters, is also being looked into after missiles and advertising hoardings were thrown.
