REAL MADRID are reportedly ready to battle Manchester duo United and City for the signing of Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Serbian international has announced himself as one of Serie A's brightest talents, earning admirers from an array of top European clubs.

According to , Los Blancos have entered the race to nab the 22-year-old as they look for an imposing, physical midfielder.

They claim that Zinedine Zidane's side have been scouting the former Genk ace, and is high on their list of summer targets.

While the Red Devils and Citizens are also attempting to lure Milinkovic-Savic to the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho is in desperate need for a midfielder in the next transfer window with Michael Carrick set to retire, and Marouane Fellaini poised to leave on a free.

Lazio sporting director Igli Tare recently declared that the Biancocelesti had turned down a £62million bid from an unnamed club last summer for his services.

Milinkovic-Savic is tied down with the club until 2021, and has banged in 11 goals in all competitions this season, including bagging a brace against Sassuolo on Sunday.

Amid speculation regarding his future, the two-cap international claimed he is happy with the Rome outfit, and insisted his focus is solely on Simone Inzaghi's side.

The 2015 U-20 World Cup winner told Novosti: “I am focused only on Lazio. This season, Serie A has improved significantly, as you can see by the fact all the clubs are still in the Champions League or Europa League.

"As a club, we have a clear goal of a top four position, because that gives qualification to the Champions League from next season. That is a really big challenge."

While speaking to, he added: "It's nice when people are talking about me.

"But I don't place too much importance on these things. I'm happy at Lazio and am feeling good here for now, but then we will have to see."

Lazio have enjoyed a brilliant campaign so far, sitting third in the table, and are in the Europa League Round of 16 stage, as well as the Coppa Italia semi-final.
