MANCHESTER UNITED must break their own British transfer record to land Lazio striker Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
The Italian side will demand more than £100million for the Serbian forward, a price which is beyond all but the world's richest clubs.
Such a fee would eclipse the £90m that United paid Juventus for Paul Pogba in 2016, still a record purchase for a British club.
United are tipped to battle it out this summer with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain for Milinkovic-Savic, 22.
But sources have dismissed reports in Italy that a mystery club already has an offer on the table for Lazio of nearly £160m, plus £18m in add-on clauses.
Milinkovic-Savic is well aware of all the interest in him and said: “I'm happy at Lazio and am feeling good here for now, but then we will have to see."
