Dani Alves slammed for his insensitive comments on tragic death of Fiorentina captain Davide Astori
Astori's body was discovered by team-mates in a hotel room on Sunday morning as the football world mourns his passing
DANI ALVES was branded an "awful human being" after his insensitive remarks about the tragic death of Davide Astori.
The PSG star was asked about his reaction to the tragic news that the Fiorentina captain was discovered dead on Sunday morning having passed in his sleep aged 31.
Players, managers and supporters from around the world have been paying tribute to the Italian international, but Alves showed a distinct lack of emotion when giving his thoughts.
He said: "We were not disturbed too much because we did not know him very much, I am sorry for his family.
"I think that Davide has done what he owed in this chaotic world and that now he is in a better world.
"But in the world every day thousands of children who do not receive much attention die of hunger and they are just as important.
"We all have to die sooner or later because we are passing through.
"Maybe we are sad, but certainly not like his family."

Meanwhile, Alves and his PSG team-mates are currently preparing for their crunch second-leg clash with Real Madrid in the Champions League.
They trail 3-1 from the first match at the Bernabeu, and must try and overcome the reigning holders without talisman Neymar, who is back in Brazil recovery from surgery to his metatarsal.
But despite the setback in Spain, Alves has enough confidence from the performance in that defeat to believe he and his team-mates will pull off an incredible comeback.
He said: "We think we can go through because of the first-leg.
"We were superior to them in our play and the chances we created. We have to do that for the full 90 minutes this time.
"It’s a huge motivation to be able to knock out the holders."
