Cardiff 2 Barnsley 1: Neil Warnock asks side to consider his advanced years after almost throwing away points
Bluebirds chief joked his wife could have put away two of their chances as the Tykes tried to snatch a point from two goals down
NEIL WARNOCK joked his players should take more note of his age after Barnsley set up a tense finale at Cardiff City.
The Bluebirds looked set for a fifth win on the bounce after goals from Callum Paterson and Liverpool loanee Marko Grujic.
But Swansea whizkid Oli McBurnie struck against his parent club's bitter rivals to ensure a nervy last 30 minutes.
And after going within three points of leaders Wolves, Warnock quipped: "They could have made it easier for me at my age by missing two chances that my missus could have put away but I was dead proud of them.
"I can't fault the lads. They're a great bunch. We are limited in certain things but don't ever accuse my lads of being physical after that.
"How Kieffer Moore hasn't been sent off twice I'll never know. I can only expect that it's an inexperienced referee but I haven't spoke to him yet.
Cardiff winger Kadeem Harris came close to the opener on his first start of the season before Bradley Potts tested Neil Etheridge at the other end.
Kenneth Zohore teed-up Harris and Craig Bryson but neither could finish when well placed.

The Bluebirds eventually took the lead after Patterson - who scored the winner in the reverse fixture - fired home.
And the in-form Scot headed in another before the break but saw it ruled out for offside.
City doubled their lead two minutes into the second half as Grujic found the bottom corner from outside the area.
But McBurnie changed the game as he diverted a scuffed effort past Etheridge and missed a chance to level the game at 2-2.
Kieffer Moore drew Warnock's wrath as he clattered into the Cardiff stopper late on before Nathaniel Mendez-Laing hit the post with a late effort.
