HECTOR BELLERIN has been ruled out of Arsenal's crucial Europa League first-leg clash against AC Milan.
And the right-back could be sidelined for the foreseeable future if medics determine he requires knee surgery.
Bellerin, 22, was training with the first-team on Wednesday and was due to be a part of Arsene Wenger's plans in Milan.
But he suffered a recurrence of a knee injury and failed to board the plane with the rest of his team-mates.
It remains unknown how long the Spaniard will be forced to spend on the treatment table.
And it will only add to Bellerin's growing frustration at the Gunners following another difficult week.
Bellerin was thought to be furious with manager Arsene Wenger after being axed just two hours before their shambolic defeat to Brighton.
Calum Chambers was drafted in to play in his position, despite being part of the defence for the 3-0 Carabao Cup final loss to Manchester City.
