JOSHUA KIMMICH has officially snubbed interest from the Premier League to sign a new long-term contract at Bayern Munich.

The German ace, 23, had been tipped for a move to England in the summer, but instead has penned a new five-year deal, running until at least 2023.

Premier League champions-elect Manchester City were one team said to be interested in taking on the versatile star.

Pep Guardiola was keen on a reunion at the Etihad but Kimmich has instead opted to commit his long-term future to the Allianz Arena.

Kimmich’s ability to play right-back, centre-back and central midfield makes him a vital player for Bayern.

And the Bundesliga champions moved quickly to secure his long-term future before City could make any sort of mega-money swoop.

Kimmich’s agent Uli Ferber revealed late last year that talks were ongoing between the club and his client.

He said: “In the summer, Karl Heinz-Rummenigge came to us for the first time to discuss whether we can extend our association.

“We sat down together for the first time in the fall and will again one more time by the end of the year to lead the discussions.

“There is much to support an agreement given Kimmich’s star has continued to rise.”

Kimmich has already racked up 25 international caps for Germany, scoring three times.

He's been a key cog in Bayern's rampant unit this season too, making 34 appearances in all competitions, finding the back of the net four times.

German Kimmich signed for the Munich giants in 2015, from RB Leipzig - having spent two years there after learning his trade in Stuttgart's youth set-up.
