The Brazilian, 26, has been heavily linked with a return to La Liga, as Real Madrid consider him a long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, report Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani considers keeping Neymar at the Parc des Princes a "state matter".

And he has told PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi he must not allow the Brazilian to leave the club in the summer.

Hamad Al Thani founded Qatar Sports Investment in 2005, which bought the Ligue 1 giants in 2011.

The report claims he believes keeping Neymar is a matter of pride rather than money — and would not sell him for any price.

Neymar joined PSG for a record-obliterating £198million in the summer and, despite impressing on the pitch, a fractured metatarsal saw him miss the mega clash with Real Madrid in the Champions League.

While he has been sidelined, rumours of a future move to Los Blancos have gathered pace, with a fee of around £355m mooted.

It was even claimed he enquired over a return to Barcelona before his injury.

Neymar is currently receiving treatment in Brazil and no official date on his return has been set.
