TALKSPORT pundit Joey Barton wants Jamie Carragher to be sacked and insists it was "absolute madness" for him to spit at a 14-year-old girl because he has kids himself.
The Liverpool legend was filmed on a mobile phone committing the vile act following his old club's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday.
The ex-England ace, 40, had showdown talks with Sky Sports today over his position as a pundit, where he is thought to earn over £1million a year.
And Barton - who has been jailed and caught up in a string of notorious off-the-field issues - believes the dad-of-two deserves the axe following the shocking incident.
, the 35-year-old said: "It’s absolute madness, you just can’t do that in any fashion.
"If Jamie is that annoyed he should just keep his window up, or just tell him to mind his own business.
"I’ve done a lot of stupid stuff, and we all get stick, but to do that…
"Surely he’s got to see the fact there’s a young girl in the car… he’s got kids himself!
"Why is he that emotionally attached to the game? He should be an impartial pundit.
'ABSOLUTE FILTH' Jamie Carragher should be sacked for spitting at 14-year-old girl, blasts Vinnie Jones
"Look, he’s made a mistake but say that was me, I think my position should rightly be under fire and I think his will be.
"It’s down to Sky [whether he should be sacked], but Sky would have a large subscription base of Manchester United fans, and also fathers and mothers – would they want to keep paying if he stays?

"It’s disappointing, because he’s a good pundit, but you just can’t condone that.
"You can’t do that to a young girl outside a football match if you’ve got that sort of profile, you just can’t do it."
Former Wimbledon hardman Vinnie Jones, 53, warned Carragher he would have rammed his car and dragged him out had he spat at his daughter.
Also speaking on talkSPORT, he fumed: "It is cowardly.
"How has the lad driving it not driven after Jamie, rammed him, dragged him out of the car and beat seven... you know what I mean.
"If someone spat at my daughter sitting in the car, I would have been after them."
Shocking footage shows Carragher spitting in a young girl's face after her United-fan dad shouted: "Unlucky Jamie lad - 2-1!"
A Sky Sports spokesperson said: "It’s unacceptable behaviour and we will be addressing it with Jamie."
Police can bring assault charges over spitting - or prosecute as a public order offence.
Former England defender Carragher claimed he had been "goaded" by the family and apologised for spitting.
He tweeted: "Totally out of order and I've apologised personally to all the family this evening.
"I was goaded three/four times along the motorway while being being filmed and lost my rag. No excuse apologies."
Carragher was due to appear as a pundit on Monday Night Football to analyse Stoke's home clash against Manchester City.
But that will now depend on the outcome of today's meetings.
