Ramsey, 27, has been managing a hamstring injury he sustained before the Carabao Cup final on February 25.

The midfielder played in the 3-0 final defeat to Manchester City but Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been carefully managing his workload since.

That process has worked successfully with Ramsey scoring in the Gunners' 2-0 Europa League win at AC Milan last Thursday but the Welshman then missed Sunday's Premier League clash with Watford.

It is a big blow for new Wales boss Ryan Giggs, who takes charge of his first game against China in Nanning next Thursday.

Giggs, who replaced Chris Coleman in January, names his squad for the tournament in Cardiff today and Gareth Bale is expected to be included.

Real Madrid superstar Bale applied for his Chinese visa in Spain last week and is set to face Marcello Lippi's men in the four-team competition.

Depending on Wales' result against China, they will then face either Uruguay or the Czech Republic.

Uruguay announced their squad yesterday and Barcelona ace Luis Suarez has been included.

Meanwhile, Giggs will be joined by close pal Tony Strudwick as Wales' head of performance.

SunSport revealed last month Giggs had approached the Manchester United academy man to become part of his backroom staff.

Englishman Strudwick, 43, was part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s backroom staff before he was moved to the United academy under Louis van Gaal in 2014.

He will replace Everton's Ryland Morgans, whose contract was not renewed following the departure of Coleman to Sunderland.

Giggs is also expected to reveal who else will be part of his backroom staff today.
