MANCHESTER UNITED have confirmed Marcos Rojo has signed a new three-year deal.
The Argentina defender only returned from a serious knee injury earlier this campaign, meaning he has not featured too regularly.
But the Red Devils confirmed via their Twitter account that Rojo had put pen-to-paper on a deal until 2021 — with the option of a further 12 months.
The former Sporting centre-back, 27, was delighted to have committed his future to the club.
He said: "Since I joined Manchester United, it has been everything I thought it would be and more. I am extremely happy to extend my stay at this great club.
"When I joined, my aim was to help the team win trophies and we have done that over the past couple of seasons. I am working hard to get back on the pitch.
"I would like to thank the fans for their support and the manager for the confidence and help he has given me both on and off the pitch."
Rojo was arguably United's best defender last season and Jose Mourinho insists he has been impressed with the Argentine's improvement.
The United boss added: "Marcos has gone from strength to strength over the past couple of seasons, and has always shown great professionalism.
"Although his injury has kept him sidelined over these past few weeks, Marcos is working hard to return to full fitness.

"He is always ready to put his body on the line for this club and I am delighted he has signed a new contract."
Rojo was signed by Louis van Gaal in the summer of 2014 after impressing against his Holland side in the semi-finals.
After a difficult debut campaign, he showed signs of improvements and started United's FA Cup triumph over Crystal Palace in 2016.
Rojo continued to improve under Jose Mourinho — starting the 2017 EFL Cup final — and became a mainstay in the side until a serious knee injury cut short his campaign.
