Everton striker Cenk Tosun admits he nearly joined Crystal Palace… but is now at a ‘much bigger club’
Turkish international looks to be finally finding his feet in the Premier League with the Toffees - but could have been playing his football in London
CENK TOSUN has admitted he came close to joining Crystal Palace - but is now "at a much bigger club".
The Everton striker is finally starting to find his feet on Merseyside, and at the weekend scored both his side's goals in a 2-1 away win at Stoke.
Tosun joined the Toffees in the January transfer window for a fee of £25million from Besiktas, but looked to be struggling to fit in in the early stages.
But now he has moved to four goals scored in just three games as he looks to have nailed down a central striking berth.
But the 26-year-old has revealed he could have been playing his football out of London and not Liverpool.
Speaking to Turkish website , Tosun said: "I was wanted by Crystal Palace at the beginning of the season but I did not go, now I am at a much bigger club."
Tosun cost Everton £25million when he left Turkey in January, signing a four-and-a-half year deal in the process.
He arrived at Goodison Park with a big reputation, having score 64 goals in 142 appearances for current Super Lig champions Besiktas.
