Inside Arsenal’s state-of-the-art training and rehab centre – complete with luxury gym and high-performance machines
Goalkeeper Petr Cech and England striker Danny Welbeck are seen benefiting from treatments and training
ARSENAL have given fans a sneak peek behind the scenes of their state-of-the-art sports science and treatment rooms.
The Gunners have struggled with injuries to important players this season but it looks to be down to bad luck rather a lack of preparation.
The first-team treatment room has a handful of beds and a mural on the wall that documents Per Mertesacker’s painful journey from injury to FA Cup final win last season.
Goalkeeper Petr Cech – who admitted this week he is unhappy at being rested for cup clashes – is pictured working on his upper-body strength.
And Sead Kolasinac is snapped in a consultation with one of the Arsenal’s top backroom staff.
Striker Danny Welbeck – who has had his promising career at Manchester United and the Emirates hampered by injury – is seen testing his flexibility.
Mertesacker gave an emotional interview last week, detailing his psychological pain in trying to play aged 33 after a career at the top for club and country.
The told German Der Spiegel: “My body is finished.

“Everyone says I should enjoy the last year, to play as much as possible and take everything in.
“I would rather sit on the bench or - even better - in the stands, and then, for the first time in my life, aged more than 30, I will feel free.
“Some days you realise that everything is a burden, both physically and mentally, but you have to deliver without a doubt, even if you are injured.
